RAW Therapee also has very many exposure / conversion tools and yes, I too wish to learn them better (even if I use another main converter usually, there is value in learning others from both a strict practical viewpoint and from an educational viewpoint, I think). And in these days of changes in the software world, it may be useful to have at least one open source program to rely on/ back up. That said, RAW Therapee output can be very good, I agree. I personally prefer the output from Capture One. It also has more local adjustment tools than most, including Capture One, which has some such tools. ACDsee Pro is also a very powerful raw converter. I find that RAW Therapee images hold together very well, almost if not as much as those from the main converter I use, Capture One. One way I 'test' (in my amateur non scientific way) a converter is to stress images re shadow and highlights, see how much stress the images take before pixelating (if that is the word) or falling apart. Yes, RAW Therapee output is very clean I find. Did it work for you? I realized after posting you were talking about PS CC, but the directory paths should be similar. I am very impressed with the quality of the images coming out of rawtherapee. ![]() Thank you! I know I can use the tiff method but also wanted to go directly to photoshop. Hope it works for you, it just did for me. Open image, edit, then, to send to editor (PS6) go to bottom left of image editor, third button from left, a gear with a paintbrush, mouse over and it refers to editing in external editor. but with a little work you can make it load remote images too To get a basic solution, add an extension to UIImageView that downloads image data using a. ![]() OR simply put C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 navigate to Adobe Photoshop X-86 folder under C/ Program files / X86 click Adobe Photoshop Install Directory go to Prefences buttom, bottom left of complete panel I normally just save to TIFF (from C1 Pro or RAW Therapee or ACDsee, whatever) and process the TIFF's for finishing touches.īut to check your preferred method, I just did it. I recommend the first option - it’s more brutal, but who knows how old your options file is, so it’s good to start using 5.8 with a clean options file which has our recommended defaults. Add CR3 to the list of parsed extensions in Preferences. Can anyone explain to me what I am doing wrong? Just want to know how to get the image into photoshop. Two simple solutions: Close RawTherapee and delete your options file. I had assumed that the image would then appear in photoshop, but nothing happens. I restarted rawtherapee and then clicked on the paint brush and palette icon on the bottom row and nothing happened. I went to preferences and checked the photoshop box but from there I'm stumped. I'm beginning to get a handle on processing the image, but I, perhaps stupidly, can't figure out how to open the processed rawtherapee image into photoshop. I recently downloaded rawtherapee to see how it performs. The ".out" part if there so that conflicts do not occur if you are working on a non-raw file.I've used camera raw, photo ninja, and iridient so I have some experience with raw converters. ![]() If it is ticked, and if you are working on kitty.raw and saving to a JPG file, then the processing profile used to develop that image will be stored in a file called 3. ![]() When saving an image you have the option of ticking the "Save processing parameters with image" checkbox. We suggest you store these files alongside your input image files so that if you decide to move the images you can move the processing profiles easily along with them. You can choose whether RawTherapee should use the cache, write the processing profile alongside the image, or both, from "Preferences > Image Processing". Where the processing profile is stored can be configured in Preferences > Processing Profile Handling.īy default, the processing profile for an image is stored alongside the input image (if you open kitty.raw, a new file 3 will be created next to it), but they can also be stored in a central cache.
